Dear Friend,

Happy New Year’s! I hope this letter finds you well. In my capacity as the current Board Chair of Code 4 Northwest, I am reaching out to you with a sense of urgency and a plea for your support on behalf of our First Responders.

Our volunteer organization serves as a lifeline for Washington State's active and retired first responders (police, firefighters, EMS, corrections personnel), and their families by providing immediate and confidential crisis response, crisis intervention, referral services for counseling and treatment options, as well as financial resources at a time of acute crisis.

The events of the last several years have led us to a place and time where our responder community is experiencing great need – greater than I’ve seen in my almost 40 years in public service. These individuals are dedicated to our safety. They face situations that leave lasting impacts on their mental and emotional well-being. Code 4 Northwest recognizes the gravity of their burden. Now, more than ever, they need our support. Our fundraising campaign titled, "One Call, A Community of Support", is more than just a tagline; it embodies our commitment to first responders in crisis.

Code 4 Northwest is there for the brave men and women who are there for all of us at the time we need it the most. Your contribution, large or small, can make a significant difference in the lives of those who sacrifice so much for our safety. Please join us in shouldering a part of the burden our first responders carry daily; your help is very much appreciated.

Your compassion and generosity can serve as a beacon of hope to first responders in desperate need and will not only make an immediate impact, but also leave a legacy of gratitude for our heroes. On behalf of my fellow board members, staff, and call takers – thank you in advance for your support.

With sincere gratitude,

Jay Hagen,
Board Chair
